Q&A with Max Narro, President of Small Business

The Merchant Advisor recently sat down with Max Narro, the new President of Small Business at WorldPay, whose passion for providing exceptional customer service was clearly evident. Max is focused on ensuring that the needs of our customers are met, and he wants to hear what you are saying. Max is eager to fully engage WorldPay’s expertise and technology to deliver innovative solutions to our customers and help merchants compete in the ever-changing, technology-focused market and grow their businesses.

Merchant Advisor: Tell us a little bit about your new role at WorldPay.

Max: Recently, WorldPay consolidated all Small Business resources – marketing, sales, business development and support teams – under a single umbrella to improve team efficiency. This strategic reorganization cleared communication channels and simplified processes. The end result: better service for our customers. As President of the Small Business group, I am working with my talented team to anticipate and build the solutions our clients need to run their businesses more effectively today and easily transition to the solutions their businesses will need to thrive in the future.

Merchant Advisor: What are your main goals for the Small Business unit?

Max: We know that merchants are increasingly using a combination of e-commerce, mobile and digital solutions to satisfy customers. Our goal is to give them the cutting-edge services they need to provide their customers with a seamless processing experience. We will continue to leverage voice-of-the-market and voice-of-the-customer insights to support them with the latest payment solutions, products and services they need to run their businesses and to ensure that their relationship with us is optimal.

Merchant Advisor: Over the coming months, are there any programs or products that you’re particularly excited about?

Max: I’m very excited about the rollout of our partnership with American Express® in Spring 2014. WorldPay will be one of the first providers to not only authorize but also settle American Express transactions for small businesses. Our merchants will have an easier experience – with one statement and one processing agreement. This ground-breaking partnership is only one indication of our commitment to product leadership.

In addition, pricing is one of those areas of the processing industry that has traditionally been convoluted. I’m eager to carry out WorldPay’s mission to offer variable pricing options with the goal of providing simple billing and tailored programs that fit the needs of each merchant; for example, the Guaranteed Pricing Program and Cost Plus Pricing Program. And, as always, WorldPay will continue to modify our program options based on feedback from both our customers and the market.

Merchant Advisor: What will we see from WorldPay in 2014?

Max: As a market leader, we must anticipate market trends and listen to our customers’ needs. This will enable us to exceed expectations and create an advantageous relationship between us and our customers. We have a responsibility to our customers to leverage the powerful combination of the voice-of-the-market and the voice-of-the-customer to support them in this new world of payment processing.
